Welcome to the website of The Rose Society of Victoria Inc. Our Society, founded in 1899, is dedicated to the cultivation, promotion and enjoyment of all types of roses, from the classic hybrid tea of show bench perfection, the heritage roses of yesteryear, through the enormous range of floribundas and shrub roses to the smallest miniature and patio types. We love and grow all types of roses.

Our Societyis a non-profit organisation and most members of our Society are home gardeners who enjoy growing roses and want to expand their knowledge of rose culture and learn to utilise the many different types of roses available today.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!!

Want to...

  • breathe the heavenly scent of hundreds of the finest, most beautifully arranged exhibition roses in the whole of Victoria and even interstate,
  • while communing with fellow rose lovers...
  • AND experience that unique inner glow of knowing you've helped put together something great??

Then come and help with this year's Rose Show!

You don't have to be an expert, or know anyone already. Even if you're not yet a member, that's OK (if you are, you're needed!). Just come along- for an hour or for as long as you feel like or can manage. We will make you feel most welcome, and our Rose Show coordinator and motivational genius Beth will be there all the time to guide you.

Are you an early bird? Crepuscule. Image used by permission.

This year, we don't have the day before in which to set up the show, and time is of the essence. So we need people who can get there super-early to help. How does 04:00 (or 5 am, or 6 or 7) sound to you? That's when the most intrepid will be arriving. But they are few in number so far. If you would like to join the crepuscular crew and help with this wonderful major gathering of rose exhibitors,

give Beth a ring on this number

Thank you in advance!
